Why is it so easy to love them tenderly when they’re asleep?

Amelie is really quite a darling. I still can’t get over how quickly and easily she slips into our daily routine. It’s seems that we have reached a new plateau in this house of madness.

And she’s starting to make her presence felt! She’ll babble and smile when you croon over her. And she even tries to join our conversations… and believe me, Estelle and I chatter non-stop during the day. Soon, there’ll be THREE of us chattering non-stop. Hahaha, good luck to DaddyO who really loves to have some peace in the house.

So after 2 whole days of constant feeding, Amelie finally calmed down on Wednesday and rested most of the day… giving my abused nipples some much needed rest.

Here she is, bright and chirpy this morning. Has she grown since the last update?

Talk about having a growth spurt…

Amelie was one hungry baby today. She fed and fed and fed and fed. She kept fussing and refused to settle the entire afternoon. She’ll feed for half an hour, sleep for about 15-20 min, and wake up fussing and rooting.

ARRGH.

It’s a day like this that makes me want to scream “I want my body back!!!”

Hi Everyone!

Amelie’s really starting to notice her surroundings a lot more these days. She will also look adoringly into the eyes of whoever is hugging her, making it really hard not to carry her around the whole day.

Here she is, this morning, quiet but yet pretty alert, admiring her fingers, and waving her arm around.

And for those interested… she’s modelling a tie-dye Bonds singlet bought in Fremantle Market a week after my sister announced that she was pregnant with Ethan waaaay back in 2003.

Yes, we’re slowly trying to infuse our kids with the Bohemian culture. Hahaha.

Went to see the very nice Dr Ong at Aglow for Amelie’s one month check up and immunisations.

She’s now 4.2 kgs and 51.5 cm tall.
Yipee…

I’m pretty sure it’s a lesson Estelle learnt from Boomer. (hmm…)

We threw a party for Amelie in celebration of her turning ONE month old. True to the Chinese tradition, friends and relatives gathered for feasting and chatting, and yet more feasting.

Meanwhile… the baby in question is….

But she sure had plenty of mates sharing the pleasures of an afternoon nap…

Later in the evening…

Amelie was gently rocked to sleep by her great-grandfather. And after which there was even more feasting. (er… the parents was too busy with the food, and clean forgotten about the camera.)

I’m sure Amelie had a good time being cuddled and admired, I certainly enjoyed myself catching up with friends and family.

Thank you everyone who graced our party with your presence, and those who had us in your thoughts. And thank you for all the well-wishes, gifts and love.

Amelie has stretched out considerably over the last few days… She feels much lengthier and heavier than just a few days ago! And she also coos and gurgles. Such a cute baby…
And her attention span has improved a lot too. She can track a moving object and loves to look at the musical keyboard.

But her favourite object seems to be… ESTELLE! Hahaha. Really. Even when she is grumpy and fussing, should Estelle be around, on the bed talking, reading a book, climbing on DaddyO, Amelie will look at her and be really quiet.

Estelle loves the attention the baby’s been giving her too. So sweet. But of course, Estelle’s a little bored after a few seconds as Amelie can’t do very much at the moment.
